Kevin Nolan has been delighted to return from a shoulder injury ahead of schedule
With two substitute appearances and two 90 minute run-outs for the Development Squad under his belt since returning from a fractured shoulder, West Ham United skipper Kevin Nolan is already well ahead of schedule.
When he suffered the injury in training in mid-August, he was told to expect at least a six week spell before being able to return.
But having already featured in two Barclays Premier League matches, his hard work has been rewarded and now he is looking forward to being able to contribute more.
He told whufc.com: "When I first suffered the injury, the timeframe was six to eight weeks before I could get on the pitch and do anything, so I'm three or four weeks ahead of it in that respect.
"At the end of the day I've got every confidence in myself - I work hard at everything I do and I've got a great team around me in the physios and coaching staff who have supported me.
"That makes it easier, with the boys' support too, and it makes you want to be back as quickly as possible and I'm delighted to be back amongst it."
With no first team game at the weekend owing to the international break, Nolan has been glad of the opportunity to get the other injured players, such at Matt Jarvis, up to speed ahead of the 18 October trip to Burnley.
He added: "The international break was timed well for us, especially after the result we got last weekend. Coming into Burnley next week we're going to have virtually everybody training.
"That's fantastic and it's going to raise everything for us, so the future's looking good."

I think he looks better suited at his age to being an impact sub and coming on when we need a goal and are on the front foot.

No Place for him??
Been on the pitch for 15mins in the last two games and could have had two goals...still our most intelligent player around the box and the only proper leader we have on the pitch.
Come Dec/Jan he will be needed..
Agree, shouldn't start if everyone is fit and flying, but does not deserve the abuse, we have had far worse players over the years and better players who have contributed far less in actually fact..

'm just really freaking out about this. I've been so stressed out recently with other areas of my life and then this happened, which caused me to stress even more. I have read that stress can cause vaginal itching and dryness. I don't know, has anyone else experienced anything like this?

We've had several players on the books along the way and their combined wages equate to something similar to Carroll ... We've spunked money up the wall on far worse over the years IMO

Two reasons:
1. Because I think he is finished as a Premiership player.
2. Because we have much better options from the bench than Nolan.
I don't want to see him in a West Ham shirt again. Ever.

Nolan has found that you can't hide in a team like West Ham - we need every player to prove their metal

Franks, I thought I read that Kouyate will not be ready for Burnley. Only Noble and Demel will be back for that game. If he was back then yes you would want Wily back. :)

He won't walk back into the side this time IMO. I would think even Zarate is ahead of him just now. A few injuries could change things of course but for now I think Nolan will be brought on or after the 60 min mark in games.
He needs to score when he is on the pitch to have a chance of justifying his selection and you could see his frustration at the chance he missed against QPR. He knows that is the only way he can force himself back in now but this is West Ham , so expect season long, freak injuries for Sakho, Valencia, Downing and another for Carroll to see Nolan and Lolton leading the line once again ;-)

Infidel, why would you want to hurt our own team like that ? Say what you will, but at the very least Nolan is a very capable option from the bench defenders will not be looking forward to facing.
I don't want Nolan in the starting eleven either, but wishing injury upon him is sick.

Message to the squad: how to become a hero with the Upton Park faithful - do us all a favour and break Nolan's leg on the training pitch tomorrow.
Not a full scale Shaun Wright-Phillips/Dean Ashton job,just a decent clean break that takes him out for the rest of the season.
Job done.
